I was drawn in to the tale from the very beginning. A River Enchanted tells the story of a young man returning to his isolated and magical island home after years on the mainland.

This story was really atmospheric. *abduction of children, descriptions of injuries, peril, 2 fade-to-black/semi-open door scenes

I am obsessed, crying at the ending, but still obsessed. It definitely sits more on the atmospheric side than the adventurous (which is my preference) but it reaches a point around chapter 9 where I just couldn’t put it down or stop thinking about it!

I immediately read through it again so I could add tabs to all of my favorite parts and I know I will return to it again and again! Highly recommended! I typically don’t read fantasy but this book is so incredibly well written with a compelling storyline that grips you from the very first page.
